Benoit Courault

Anjou · Loire · France
Schist, slate, and a light hand.

Benoît Courault has farmed nine hectares in Faye d’Anjou since 2005, on schist and clay-limestone soils. He works with Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and old Gamay vines.

His wines — Les Ruchères, Gilbourg, La Petite Chapelle, Les Tabeneaux — are vinified without sulphur, lifted and translucent, a defining style of the new Anjou.
