Bi-Naume

When the 2016 spring frosts destroyed Claire Naudin's Plante cuvée, she and her husband Jean-Yves Bizot went looking for fruit — and found it two hundred kilometres west of Beaune, in Saint-Pourçain, at the crossroads of the Loire and Burgundy.

Bi-Naume is their micro-négoce: old hillside Gamay and Pinot Noir on sandy granite and clay, sourced from growers like Florent Barichard and vinified whole-cluster without sulphur. Burgundy technique, Auvergne acidity, none of the Côte d'Or price.
